STAGE I - ONSET
The garment reflects the onset of the tumour cell in her body as small buds growing through vines.
The single piece silhouette represents the void of structure in her thoughts.
The entire garment is hand embroidered by skilled Indian artisans.

STAGE II - DENIAL
The designer finally realises the gravity of the situation.
The garment is designed to portray the layer of protection formed mentally to not accept the repercussions of the tumour and be in a state of denial.

STAGE III - ANGER
The garment depicts the emotional state of the designer not wanting to accept this reality of hers.
The corset and pencil skirt are designed to exude boldness and power. The delicate net jacket portrays the fragile state of mind and the designer yearning it to be a layer she can just take off.

STAGE IV - ACCEPTANCE
There is no escape. The designer accepts the fact, stays strong to continue her journey.
The silhouette of the garment has elements inspired from an armour. It signifies the mental metamorphosis towards a powerful, resilient growth.

STAGE V - EMBRACED
She strides with confidence. Embracing the pain and setbacks, the lessons only make you stronger.
The front of the garment is to reflect the structure of an armour with structural embellishments. The hand embroidery is designed to show power with the cell structures only embroidered onto the cape as they are the reason for her mental strength but a thing of the past.
